Claire Sweeney has wowed fans as she shared details of her trip abroad. The soap star is renowned for her role as Cassandra Plummer and is currently involved in one of the show’s major storylines.
The character was eager to remain employed as Ken Barlow’s carer so has started poisoning his drinks so he remains reliant upon her. Her plan seems to be working as she was invited to move into number one Coronation Street in episodes broadcast this week.
However, she has aroused suspicion from Steve McDonald so it remains to be seen when the truth will finally emerge. Away from the screen, Claire regularly shares updates from her life on Instagram.
She has taken to the social media platform to reveal she has travelled to Paris for a well earned break. The 53-year-old shared snaps from a sunny French capital with her 206,000 followers.
She said: “Morning coffee in Paris.” The Brookside star also shared snaps from the Four Seasons hotel ahead of a glamorous nightout, which wowed her co-stars. Sally Carman, who plays Abi Webster, said: “You look knockout.” Helen Flanagan, who played Rosie Webster in Corrie, took to the comments and added: “Wow.”
Claire’s trip to Paris comes day after she issued a heartfelt tribute to her close friends, Ian H Watkins, who made his name as part of 90s pop group, Steps. She took to social media on Thursday to share a series of snaps of the two.
Claire said: “Friend’s for 30 years, thick and thin, fat and slim, boyfriends, breakups and babies. Second pic taken 25 years ago! I always love you my friend @ianhwatkins treasure your friends.”
Followers took to the comments to praise the close friends. Lorraine posted: “Aww love this.” Simon commented: “Beautiful Folks. Good Friendships are so valuable.”
Claire spoke to the ECHO in an exclusive interview and explained how she is savouring every moment of her return to the world of soaps. She told the ECHO: “I thought I’d had the better days of my career, so to have a year like this, I just feel so grateful and blessed. What a year.”
