Gladiators legend Jet has reportedly split from her wife after 18 months of marriage. The original star of the hit 90s show, real name Diane Youdale, exchanged vows with wife Zoe in an intimate ceremony in July 2023.
However, it’s now reported that their marriage has come to an end. The couple’s love story began when they met in a supermarket car park, with Diane, 54, proposing to Zoe after just four months of dating. Their wedding was a low-key affair, with only six close friends and family members in attendance. After finding love with Zoe, Diane confessed that she “just knew” she was the one.
She said she’s always felt “relaxed” about her sexuality and didn’t feel the need to “keep it a secret”. Diane said: “I don’t have any prejudices against male or female but I’m definitely more comfortable in my life now with Zoe”, reports the Mirror.
However, it seems that their marriage was not meant to be. A source told Daily Mail: “Diane and Zoe just realised it wasn’t to be. They didn’t see any point carrying on so decided to end their marriage. It’s sad, especially as they were only married for nearly 18 months, but they just weren’t getting on.
“On reflection, they may have rushed into making their relationship official but there’s no regrets or hard feelings between them.” OK! has contacted a representative for Diane for comment.
Diane previously opened up to Closer magazine about her nuptials, revealing: “We’re married! We kept it very, very quiet. Literally nine people on the planet knew. We wanted to keep it really tiny.” For the day, Diane wore a “boho top and trousers” while Zoe donned “brogues and chinos”.
The newlyweds whisked themselves away for a brief honeymoon in Northumbria and then spent quality time with loved ones, including some familiar faces from Jet’s Gladiator days.
Later, on ITV’s Lorraine, they shared insights into their fast-paced romance. Diane disclosed to Zoe: “I asked you four months in… I just knew. The proposal was really boring, just in the kitchen over a glass of wine, you know, lets do this.”
