Former Coronation Street stars Sacha Parkinson and Rebecca Ryan can be seen glowing in new pictures as they showed off their blossoming baby bumps after announcing their pregnancies.
Sacha, 32, known for her role as Sian Powers on the iconic ITV soap, is expecting her first child and cradled her growing bump in a chic black dress, paired with a leather jacket and chunky black boots. Sacha announced her exciting news last year as she took to social media, posting: “Merry Xmas Eve huns. I have a feeling next year is going to be a wild one.” She also shared a series of Polaroid snaps of her wearing red silk pyjamas while cradling her growing bump, along with a snap of her dog sitting beside her hospital scan pictures.
A slew of Corrie stars rushed to congratulate her, including Brooke Vincent, her on-screen love interest Sophie Webster, who gushed: “I love you all so much! ! !” Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt and recently welcomed her second child, commented with: “Congratulations! ! ! ! Yayyyyy exciting news xxx.”
Strictly Come Dancing’s Ellie Leach, who was Faye Windass, wrote: “Sooooo excited” while Georgia May Foote, who played Katy Armstrong, said: “Omg!!! This is amazing! Congratulations!!!”
Corrie fans will remember Sacha for her portrayal of Sian, one half of Weatherfield’s first lesbian couple with Sophie. Sadly, Sacha left fans heartbroken when her character waved farewell to the cobbles after their dramatic breakup.
Meanwhile, fellow Coronation Street star Rebecca Ryan, known for her role as Lydia Chambers, is glowing with pregnancy joy as she awaits the arrival of her second child. In the new pics, the actress looks stunning in a chic dark brown skirt that perfectly accentuated her growing bump, paired with a black top and grey cropped jacket, reports the Mirror.
Taking to social media to share her excitement over her pregnancy, Rebecca quipped: “Sleep’s overrated anyway, here comes baby No.2,” which prompted a flurry of well-wishes from fans, including one who exclaimed: “Awhhh amazing, congratulations to you all.”
Rebecca’s brother, Jack James Ryan – who starred in Corrie as Jacob Hay from 2021 until 2023 – was among those commenting. He wrote: “Can’t wait to meet my new best mate.”
Rebecca and her husband Dan are already proud parents to their daughter Aurora, who arrived in 2023. On her daughter’s first birthday, Rebecca gushed: “My darling girl Aurora, where has this year gone? The immeasurable joy and love you have brought into my life is something I will be forever thankful for. Your cheeky smile lights up every room, and I just love watching you grow and change every single day. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. Happy 1st birthday my girl.”
During her stint on the cobbles, Rebecca’s character Lydia became entangled with Sarah Platt, only for it to later emerge that she harboured a vendetta against Sarah’s then-husband Adam Barlow due to past jealousy, leading her to secretly wreak havoc on their lives.
In dramatic exit scenes, it was unveiled that Lydia had become pregnant with Adam’s baby but chose to have an abortion after he abandoned her for another woman. The heartache intensified when she discovered Adam was content with Sarah. In a shocking twist, she pushed him over a balcony as he attempted to calm her down. He later deceived the police about the incident, claiming he had fallen, which allowed her to walk away and continue living with her young son.
