EastEnders star Lacey Turner has given birth to her third child with husband Matt Kay, and the couple’s two older children already look smitten with their new sibling
Lacey Turner has given birth to her third baby, celebrating the joyful news with husband Matt Kay. The beloved EastEnders actress, 36, melted hearts by sharing an adorable snap of her two older siblings giving their new brother or sister a tender kiss, captioning it: “Our hearts are full.” Her co-stars quickly filled the comments with love and congratulations. Diane Parish couldn’t help but exclaim: “Amazing.” Lorraine Stanley joined in, expressing: “Congratulations to you all!!! what beautiful photos, big love and hugs.” The couple, who tied the knot back in 2017, already have two sweet children, Dusty, who is five years old, and three year old Trilby. They have eagerly anticipated their newest addition’s arrival, reports the Mirror.
Lacey previously gave fans a glimpse into her pregnancy journey in September when she uploaded a precious family photo clasping a sonogram. The gang was all smiles on a beach as the sunset painted the perfect backdrop. “#blessed” might as well have been the caption, but Lacey opted for the heartfelt: “Aren’t we lucky….. @thekayoskids”, followed by an array of loving heart emojis. Fans and friends alike gushed over the news, flooding the comments with messages of congratulations. Lacey’s friend and co-star Jac Jossa remarked: “So special! Congratulations angel all of you! ! Beautiful x,” while another fan expressed their bittersweet feelings: “Congratulations to you all Gutted that will also mean Stacey won’t be in EastEnders for a while x”.
Lacey, famed for her role as EastEnders’ Stacey Slater, first shot to stardom in 2004 when she graced Albert Square. Over the past two decades, the 36 year old has been at the heart of some unforgettable storylines, including the iconic Christmas plot involving ‘The Six’, and her character even became a nan in 2023 when her daughter Lily had her baby.
Lacey and her hubby Matt Kay, who was her childhood sweetheart, first crossed paths at a mate’s house when they were just 15 and have been inseparable since, something she considers herself “really lucky” for. They said their vows in 2017 at a posh resort in Ibiza’s north, with a host of her EastEnders pals there to join in the celebrations, including the late Barbara Windsor, Jake Wood, Laurie Brett, Scott Maslen, Aaron Sidwell, and James Bye.
She was also backed by her four bridesmaids – sisters Lily and Daisy, her stepsister Mimie and new sister-in-law Amber – and two adorable flower girls. Tragically, she experienced two miscarriages before welcoming her two “miracle” kids, daughter Dusty Violet and son Trilby Fox.
She has since spoken out about how opting for private healthcare aided her in having her children. “If I’d not gone private I’d probably still have no babies,” she confessed to The Sun newspaper.
“There wasn’t really any aftercare. I was told that I’d had a miscarriage and that was it. I really felt quite overwhelmed and lost during our miscarriages.” She shared: “We found ourselves confused. We had no explanation, just a sudden feeling of the excitement of having a baby to feeling completely empty and lost. To go through that once is hard enough. Earlier doctors’ advice and support would have helped.”
She continued: “We were lucky enough to go to a private specialist. Everyone should have that opportunity. It’s great that the subject of miscarriage is becoming less of a taboo subject. There are great charities which can help.”
