Myleene Klass shares how she dropped from size 16 to 8 with two health swaps

Myleene Klass, 46, wowed fans this week as she showed off her toned physique in a red bikini – and the star has previously opened up about her diet and fitness regime

Myleene Klass left her fans in absolute awe as she flaunted her incredible figure in a red bikini on social media this week.

The 46-year-old beauty, well-known for her talents as a TV presenter, singer and model, was soaking up the sun in Thailand with her family as they kicked off the new year together.

But it wasn’t the breathtaking landscapes that stole the show, as followers were mesmerised by Loose Women star Myleene’s toned physique. Comments poured in, such as: “Wow, you look incredible,” while another told the mum-of-two: “Looking good Myleene.”

A third joined in the chorus too, dubbing her “absolutely gorgeous”, while yet another gushed over her “awesome body”. Curious minds are asking, what could possibly be Myleene’s secrets to maintaining such an enviable figure?

Myleene has been candid about her approach to nutrition, which involves focusing more on eating smart rather than simply eating less.

She experienced weight fluctuations while in her pop group Hear’Say, and as the band split in 2001. In fact, she even revealed revealing she had to open her jeans during a BRIT Awards performance because of her ‘chaotic eating routine’ while in the band. At the time, she said she was around a size 16 and 11 and a half stone.

These days, Myleene harnesses a 2-step method to keep her meals balanced, ditching meal skipping and inconsistent snacks in favour of sustainably-sourced carbohydrates and ample protein. Her revised dietary habits have not only kept her fit but also led her to claim she’s now at her ‘healthiest weight ever’, boasting a sleek size 8 frame.

Speaking to Women’s Health, Myleene confessed: “I’m not naturally slim. I’m 5ft 5in and I’m not a model.

Because I’m not a model, I’ve learnt to make the best of what I’ve got – short legs and bandy arms and a long back and terrible posture, but I don’t wish to be anything else. It’s my points of difference that have made me a success.”

Myleene also dished out her top lifestyle tips, urging fans to indulge occasionally but sensibly, and to banish the word ‘diet’ from their vocabulary. She explained her approach, saying: “I used to do that whole thing of,’I’m not going to go near chocolate’ and all that happens is that three days later it’s all I’m craving and I just go mental.”

Myleene emphasises the importance of self-love, particularly in front of her daughters Ava and Hero, whom she shares with ex Graham Quinn. She strives to set a positive example, adding: “I don’t want my children to have a bad body image so I don’t want them to see me sitting there sucking in my stomach or looking at myself negatively.”

She also mentioned her unique household rule, adding: “I want them to see me eating well. I won’t use the word diet. I won’t even call a Diet Coke by its name – in my house it’s known as a DC.”
