And it didn’t stop there, with another viewer remarking on the presenter’s body language: “The sighing and stretching was crazy work.” Some fans even sympathised with Dermot’s apparent boredom, with one writing: “Don’t blame him, I switched off too, what nonsense are they even talking about. Bore.” Meanwhile, another added: “This is perfect, he’s obviously met her before. ‘Yeah lovely,'” reports the Mirror.

Ferne McCann, known for appearing on The Only Way Is Essex, is among the celebrities competing in the 2025 series of Dancing on Ice. She made her ice debut to the tune of Lily Allen’s Somewhere Only We Know, earning a respectable third place on the leader board with a score of 26.5, trailing just behind Coronation Street actor Sam Aston and TV wildlife expert Michaela Strachan.

Ferne McCann opened up on This Morning about her decision to join Dancing on Ice, saying: “It was the perfect time with finishing my reality show at the end of the year last year and just to go onto such a fantastic production. It’s such a fantastic show, it’s magical.”

She also shared her amazement at her progress: “I genuinely can’t believe it, the progression is crazy. I started off now being able to ice skate whatsoever and feeling really frustrated because I was like ‘how am I ever going to get this? ‘ I really just had to surrender and trust the process.”

In an exclusive with The Mirror, Ferne couldn’t help but gush over the unexpected fitness benefits from her intense training sessions: “Every shoot I’ve done leading up to Dancing on Ice, all of my friends have been going, ‘Ferne, your booty! ‘” She attributed her toned physique to the nature of the sport: “It’s because you’re constantly squatting and bending down the whole time on your bent knees, so it’s been amazing exercise. I’ve just got fitter and more supple, the more training I’ve done.”

Former champ James Jordan expressed his concerns to The Mirror about Ferne’s chances in the competition due to her height: “It would be great to have a really strong female. I was thinking about Ferne McCann. She’s only 34 but she’s very tall and I worry that she’s going to struggle.”
