Holly Willoughby is said to be ‘weighing up’ a huge ITV deal that would see her star in a trio of new TV shows this year for the channel, and sets her up for a healthy payday.
Holly Willoughby is reportedly in line for a significant payday this year, as ITV has allegedly offered her three new TV shows to ensure she remains with the channel. Despite leaving This Morning in 2023, Holly has stayed on to present Dancing On Ice and the recently revived show You Bet!
The latter features Holly and Stephen Mulhern as co-hosts and began in December with two specials. According to The Sun, ITV has given Holly a full series of You Bet! following the two specials, which could lead to another Saturday night entertainment show, and potentially a third game or quiz show.
A source told the publication: “ITV chiefs are attempting to future-proof their relationship with Holly, who they very much see as having launched and nurtured her career on the network.”
“But they also understand she has earned her place as one of Britain’s biggest TV stars, and inevitably rivals will make her offers – so they feel they have to tempt her to stay. Of course, it’s entirely up to Holly if she takes up ITV’s deal or starts to consider her options elsewhere.”, reports the Mirror.
You Bet! first aired in 1988 hosted by the legendary Bruce Forsyth. During the ’90s, Matthew Kelly and Darren Day also presented the show, which features ordinary people taking on incredible challenges for a large cash prize.
ITV’s reboot has seen Holly and Stephen co-hosting, with a star-studded panel including Alison Hammond, Rob Beckett, Harry Redknapp and Rosie Ramsay. The show involves the audience betting on the outcomes of bizarre challenges.
However, Holly has already made a leap to Netflix for a new show, Celebrity Bear Hunt. The show features adventurer Bear Grylls chasing celebrities through the Costa Rican jungle. The promotional poster shows Holly and Bear in a dense jungle setting, ready for action. Netflix has announced that Celebrity Bear Hunt will premiere on February 5th.
The caption teases: “Can 12 celebrities survive being hunted in the Costa Rican jungle by Bear Grylls? Hosted by Holly Willoughby, Celebrity Bear Hunt arrives 5 February 2025, only on Netflix.”
While the celebrity lineup is yet to be confirmed by Netflix, there are rumours about who might be participating. According to The Sun, potential participants include Spice Girl Mel B, Strictly judge Shirley Ballas, rugby player Danny Cipriani, tennis legend Boris Becker, designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, and Una Healy from The Saturdays.
Other names being thrown into the mix are The Inbetweeners’ Joe Thomas, TV presenter Steph McGovern, model Lottie Moss, chef Big Zuu, and Ted Lasso’s Kola Bokinni.
