Ferne McCann says she and Lorri Haines had to ‘prioritise intimacy’ before split rumours

EXCLUSIVE: Former TOWIE star Ferne McCann and her fiancé Lorri Haines were hit with split rumours recently after they were said to have had a ‘massive row behind the scenes’

Ferne McCann has addressed the recent split rumours with her fiancé Lorri Haines after reports of a ‘massive row’ surfaced. The 34-year-old Dancing on Ice star opened up during an intimate chat with OK!, saying the speculation hit them hard as it was ‘so out of the blue’. “My heart sank – I even had family members messaging me and asking what had happened,” she revealed. “But we are good. We feel like we have to justify ourselves sometimes because, you know, every couple has their ups and downs.”

Ferne, who is gearing up for her ice-skating debut, said her bond with Lorri stands out compared to past relationships, largely due to their combined career rushes and the challenge they face in blending their families: “I think this is my first proper relationship and we are juggling so much with businesses and raising our children together; we’re a blended family, with lots of different personalities,” she explained.

“Don’t get me wrong, we’re not constantly upbeat and positive, but we’re very much together and doing life together. When you’ve got multiple children, it’s a lot. We’re both busy working and it’s like any household, it’s about the moving parts. Sometimes we can be like passing ships if he’s in the office and I’m working – it can be tough.”, reports the Mirror.

Ferne McCann has candidly opened up about the “tension” in her relationship with her partner, revealing that they turned to an intimacy coach for help. The former TOWIE star shared a giggle as she said, “Ha, getting the intimacy back…” She then delved into the importance of prioritising romance, especially after having children.

“You really have to prioritise it when you’ve got children – it’s easy for it to be bottom of the pile. We had a baby and are very busy. But now we prioritise intimacy, and communication is key. You get those rare moments where you can have quality time together.”

Ferne, who shot to fame on ‘The Only Way is Essex’ in 2013, also touched on how she copes with online negativity, particularly regarding her relationship and family: “When it comes to comments on social media, it can be hard not to tune in to the one negative one – even when there’s hundreds of positive ones. But you do develop a thick skin in this industry and life is what you make it. So, I could have gotten really anxious or down about the split rumours but I’ve just said, ‘Let’s park it and move forward.'”.
