Zara McDermott is said to be a dream signing for Celebs Go Dating bosses after the Made In Chelsea and Love Island star split from boyfriend of five years Sam Thompson
Freshly single Zara McDermott is rumoured to be the next big catch for Celebs Go Dating producers after her split from long-term beau Sam Thompson. The Love Island and Made In Chelsea beauty, who recently called it quits with Sam following a five-year romance, is reportedly in the sights of the hit dating show’s bosses.
Sources claim that while Zara adores the show, it’s uncertain if she’s ready to jump back into the dating pool so soon after her breakup. Yet, it’s thought Celebs Go Dating would be eager to help Zara discover the deeper purpose of their matchmaking magic, with whispers suggesting she’d have a queue of potential suitors for the 2025 series.
A source spilled to The Sun: “Celebs Go Dating bosses are really keen to sign Zara up for the 2025 series – she’s a huge fan favourite and they think she’d be perfect for the show and have men lining up to date her. It might be too soon after the split with Sam but they think she’d see the real meaning behind the show, which is about stars looking at themselves and their dating patterns.”
OK! has contacted Channel 4 and Zara’s reps for comment.
Last season saw celebs including Helen Flanagan and Ella Morgan seek love advice from the experts. While Ella seemed to find her match on the show, her recent breakup with Alex James Ali has been making headlines.
Amidst swirling rumours, Alex vehemently denied any infidelity on social media, stating: “The rumours are not true. Our relationship ended amicably and I have nothing buy love and respect for Ella. That’s all there is to say. Wishing you all a great New Year,” reports the Mirror.
Zara and Sam’s long-term relationship ended after the pair seemingly spent the festive period apart. The couple, who had been together for over five years, had built a life together, including a home next door to Sam’s sister Louise and her fiancé Ryan Libbey, and shared two cats, Albus and Cedric.
A source told the MailOnline: “Sam and Zara have ended their relationship. It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways, they still care and have a lot of love for each other.” They added that despite the couple working hard on their romance, spending time away from each other had made it difficult. The source said the pair are now keen to spend time on their individual careers moving forward.
The couple were last seen together in December, celebrating Zara’s birthday, with Sam calling her his “soulmate” and “best friend” in a heartfelt post. However, just a week later, Sam was spotted outside a strip club with Pete Wicks, sparking concerns about their relationship.
