Galway woman crowned ‘Best Dressed’ at Dublin Horse Show 2024

One of the most exciting sporting and social events on Ireland’s summer calendar, the 2024 RDS Dublin Horse Show has once again returned to the grounds of the RDS.

The Show’s annual Ladies Day was held today, 15 August, with the ‘Best Dressed’ competition taking place on the beautiful Band Lawn.

Celebrity stylist Clémentine MacNeice joined fashion doyenne Bairbre Power to judge this year’s event, while TV and radio presenter Laura Woods returned as MC to welcome entrants to the stage.

In the end, it was Lorraine Ryan Kelly from Galway that walked away an incredible €10,000 cash prize from 1664 Blanc.

Over 300 people took to the ‘Best Dressed’ stage and shared their looks, and sustainability dominated the stage with hats created from recycled straws and outfits either upcycled or borrowed from rental stores or cherished vintage pieces passed down through generations.

Lorraine wore a hat by Caitriona King, a bronze lace bouse by Julie Caufield, black trousers by No Name Style, black shoes and a black hand bag with gold detailing which she borrowed from her mum.

Speaking about the win, Lorraine said: “I am absolutely delighted, over the moon. I nearly had second thoughts about entering when I saw the queue but I’m so thrilled I decided to take part in this special day!”
