Coronation Street’s Tony Maudsley has thrilled fans by offering them a glimpse into his personal family life.

Tony became part of the ITV soap in 2020, taking on the role of George Shuttleworth, son of the deceased undertaker Archie (Roy Hudd). He has since established himself as a beloved character amongst audiences.

Following his father’s death, George assumed control of Shuttleworth’s Independent Funeral Directors on Tile Street, enlisting his friend Todd Grimshaw (Gather Pierce) as his deputy.

George’s family expanded in 2022 when his sister Glenda, played by Jodie Prenger, joined the programme. The ex-cruise ship performer swiftly endeared herself to fans through her loving relationship with her devoted brother.

He has also featured in numerous major plotlines – including his romantic entanglements with Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) – who departed the show last year – and his present relationship with Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), reports the Mirror.

Beyond Corrie, Tony has featured in Queer As Folk, Emmerdale and even appeared in the Harry Potter series in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. He also featured in the popular ITV comedy Benidorm, portraying hairdresser Kenneth Du Beke from 2011 to 2018.

The television personality regularly keeps his devoted fanbase of 77k Instagram followers informed about his daily activities. This week, he left his co-stars and admirers charmed following a sweet family revelation.

Offering fans a glimpse into his personal world, Tony shared multiple pictures of his beloved pooch following their grooming session. He wrote alongside the post: “Took Bosie to a new groomers today in Worsley Village and they did a great job! They even cleaned his teeth (well the few he’s got left! )”.

He continued: “New business so give them a try if you’re local! Idyllic setting so perfect for a lovely walk, post-pamper! ! Oh by the way that chunk of fur out of his leg wasn’t done by the groomer he had blood tests last week so that was down to the vet!”.

Predictably, his colleagues were charmed by the images, with Sally Carman commenting: “Blow OUT,” accompanied by a love heart eyes emoji. Another fan exclaimed: “Beautiful boy! Looking fab Bosie.” A third wrote: “Omg he is so cute! That face!” Someone else declared: “What a cutie! ! !”.
