Former Love Island stars Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague left fans in shock by announcing that they had parted ways after five years together, one of which they were engaged
Tommy Fury has reportedly made attempts to reconcile with his now ex-fiancée Molly-Mae Hague after the pair announced their split on Wednesday.
The couple, both aged 25, took to their Instagram accounts to share that after five years together, they have parted ways.
In a Snapchat story posted just hours before their breakup was made public on Wednesday, Tommy uploaded a sweet photo of him bottle-feeding their 19-month-old Bambi.
While the sweet tender father-daughter moment seemed present, it has since been reported that the content was captured weeks earlier.
The boxer is said to have posted the snap in an attempt to win back his “devastated” former partner.
Sources reportedly close to Molly-Mae told the Daily Mail that the breakup has been “agonising” for her and was a step she felt she had to take “for her own sanity,” reports the Manchester Evening News.
They revealed: “She had to cut the cord and the only way to do that was by posting about it on social media.”
Molly-Mae expressed her heartache on her page, stating that she “never in a million years” imagined she’d need to issue a statement about a breakup and “especially” not one that concluded in such a way.
“I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter,” she continued. “Without us there would be no her, she will be my priority.”
The former Love Islanders first met on the dating show in 2019 and their evolving romance has since captivated fans.
In January 2023, they welcomed their first child together, and by July, they were engaged.
Just last week, Molly-Mae also expressed her pride in Tommy for his work on his audiobook, but confessed that his absence had been challenging.
She revealed in a YouTube vlog: “I, to be honest with you, have been not feeling… like, I mean this week has just been a lot of emotions.”
Molly-Mae further explained that while she was thrilled for Tommy, managing parenting duties alone for two weeks had been tough.
“When he’s home from doing work and stuff, he’s so incredible and so helpful. I can’t say any different,” she added.
“Like, he’s such an incredible dad. But I have been this week, like, just really… mum life has been mum life-ing.
“I just feel like, at the minute I’ve been struggling a little bit.”
Following their separation, rumours have circulated that Tommy was unfaithful to Molly-Mae, allegations he vehemently denies.
A statement issued via his spokesperson reads: “Tommy is horrified by the false allegations of cheating being circulated by the media and he’s consulting his lawyers.”
Neither Molly-Mae nor Tommy have provided a reason for their split and have requested privacy from fans as they navigate their break up.
