Laura Hamilton has shared a special family update as she celebrates her son’s 12th birthday. The presenter has been a part of hit Channel 4 show A Place in the Sun since her first episode aired in February 2012.
Laura shares two children with her former husband Alex Goward, who she split from in 2022. They have a son named Rocco and a daughter named Tahlia. The proud mum shared an adorable video to Instagram of her son Rocco over the years, from a baby to now.
The post was captioned: “Happy 12th Birthday Rocco. How are you 12 already? It honestly feels like yesterday you were taking your first steps, and now you’re racing through life with so much passion, drive, and determination.
“Rocco, you have such a big heart and a beautiful soul. You put your all into everything you do, whether it’s school, sport, or just being the best, protective big brother and friend. You’re thoughtful, kind, and full of energy and almost taller than me.
“Watching you grow into the incredible young man you’re becoming makes me so proud. You remind me every day what hard work, courage, and love can do. Keep dreaming big, keep being you, because you are truly one of a kind.”
Many birthday messages were sent to Rocco after his mum’s birthday update. One comment said: “Happy Birthday to your wonderful Son and have a wonderful day” and another said: “Amazing young life, the years from a baby to young lad.”
Other replies included: “Happy birthday Rocco I hope everyone enjoy the celebrations” and “What lovely words from you, Laura, to Rocco, your now 12 year old son! He obviously means so much to you.”
Laura and her family have been living in Spain since Laura purchased a Majorcan holiday home in August 2024. She has been renovating the home and has previously spoken about “loving the process” of transforming it. The TV presenter has a separate Instagram account dedicated to her makeover process. Laura has been renovating properties since she was 19-years-old.
On Instagram in July, Laura said: “I have some news and this is something I have been wanting to share with you for some time with you but it just hasn’t felt quite right. As many of you know this time last year I brought a property in Majorca and it was a renovation project because that’s exactly what I love.
“However, things have taken a lot longer, when you’re renovating a property you’re waiting for various licences, permits and it is a slow process. The project is still very much underway it’s just taking a lot longer than I anticipated.”
In an exciting announcement, Laura told followers that over the past twelve months she has been visiting Dubai.
She said: “You might have seen that from my stories and posts that I have been doing. I have been coming to Dubai for many years and when you do the job that I do you love exploring the world.”
Laura added: “A couple of months ago I purchased my very own property here in Dubai, in Dubai marina. I am here this week with the children showing them the property for the first time.”
It is a four year old property that Laura says she is able to put her own “stamp” on.
