Claire Sweeney shares regular insights into her personal life away from TV. The actress has established herself as one of Coronation Street’s most popular cast members. The 54-year-old Scouser arrived on the Cobbles as Cassandra Plummer in 2023. Yesterday Claire told fans she is “thrilled” after making a discovery in her kitchen.
She had been searching her flat for her earphones but had been unable to locate them before she opened her washing machine. In a video shared to Instagram Stories, she said: “I can’t believe it, I have been searching high and low in my flat for my earpods and I have just got my washing out of the machine, done a whole load of washing and they were in the washing machine.
“They have gone through a full cycle on the machine and guess what? They are still working, I can’t believe it, my airpods are still working after a full hour-long cycle in the machine. I just can’t believe it.
“I am so thrilled, I have been going around the flat with the “find my” on the phone and it kept taking me into the kitchen and I have searched high and low, and it is in the washing machine.”
In an interview with the ECHO this year, the Cassandra Plummer star explained how she divides her time between London and Liverpool. The star is incredibly proud of her Merseyside roots and in 2023 showed OK! around her amazing property.
Claire first bought her home when she was in Brookside and is still just as in love with it now as she was in the 90s. She said: “I just feel so grateful for things. I’m blessed that at 52 I still love what I do and I’ve got my son and my house. I feel great.”

Claire’s beautiful home has a very contemporary feel thanks to its high ceilings, white and exposed brickwork. Claire gave OK! a glimpse into her bedroom, which features a large brick arch which creates a cosy alcove at the foot of her bed.
The ornate living room is adorned with majestic purple and gold wallpaper. Claire’s home was formerly a flour warehouse and boasts beautiful views of the Liverpool waterfront from the living room.
After a difficult couple of months for Claire, following the death of ex-partner Ricky Hatton, Claire has managed to enjoy some family time in recent weeks.
The Coronation Street actress and her son share a close bond together and the proud mum often shares the memories they make together on social media.
In September, the soap star took her son Jaxon to see the musical “Wicked” in London. A photo shared by Claire on Instagram was a selfie of the mum and son. They smiled as they held Wicked-themed drinks, Claire had a green cocktail with pink candyfloss and Jaxon had a green slushy drink.
The star who found fame as Lindsey Corkhill on Channel 4’s Brookside, welcomed Jaxon into the world with her former fiancé Daniel Riley. However, Claire and Daniel decided to call it quits on their relationship just nine months after their son’s birth.
