Everton have announced that watchmakers Christopher Ward are their new shirt sleeve sponsors
Everton and Christopher Ward are teaming up to commemorate a unique moment in time, with the watch brand becoming the Blues’ official sleeve partner for the club’s historic final season at Goodison Park.
The latest expansion of the commercial agreement with Christopher Ward means the long-term club partner’s logo will be visible on the shirts of men’s senior team players for all league and cup matches during the 2024/25 campaign, starting with Saturday’s Premier League home opener against Brighton and Hove Albion (kick-off 3pm) but the ECHO understands the sleeve patch will not be available on the kits on sale for fans to buy.
No figures have been disclosed as to the numbers involved in the deal but club insiders say the development is positive from a commercial point of view while Christopher Ward, who became Everton’s first official global timing partner in June 2022, will also continue to appear on the back of Everton Women’s playing shirts, as part of a multi-year arrangement announced last summer. Richard Kenyon, Everton’s chief commercial and communications officer, said: “Christopher Ward has been a brilliant partner ever since they first came on board in 2022 and we’re delighted to announce that we are further strengthening our relationship with them through this agreement.
“It has been especially pleasing to see their growth into the country’s leading watch brand in this period – and for Everton to have played our part. It has also been rewarding for all parties to see the impact that Christopher Ward has made through its support of our community programmes – and we are very grateful to them for that.
“On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to personally thank Mike France from Christopher Ward, and Mark Rollings, our Director of Partnerships and his team, for the work they have done in developing this relationship over the last two years. We look forward to a successful last season at Goodison Park together and taking this strong partnership into our new stadium.”
Everton say Christopher Ward, which celebrated its 20th birthday this year, turned the traditional watch model on its head as the world’s first online-only premium watch brand offering hand-crafted, Swiss-made mechanical watches at prices set to put them within reach of as many people as possible, adding that by selling directly to consumers through their own website and continuing their commitment to fair pricing, the brand has grown to have customers across the globe and are today renowned for their pioneering approach to watchmaking.
