Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon and Tina O’Brien have shared a heartfelt update to social media. The two actresses portray mum and daughter Sarah and Bethany Platt on the popular ITV soap. They got glammed up away from the cobbles earlier this week for the Pride of Britain Awards.

They looked gorgeous pictured on the red carpet together for the star-studded event held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Monday evening. Carol Vorderman and Ashley Banjo hosted the event as one of the most important dates in the showbiz calendar, marking a night to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of everyday people.

Tina O’Brien, who plays Sarah Platt on Coronation Street, took to Instagram to share some glamorous photos from the night. She shared a snap alongside Lucy Fallon, as well as a stunning selfie and some photos from inside the ceremony.

She captioned the post with the lovely words: “Still feeling so lucky and honoured to have attended the Pride of Britain Awards last night with the truly beautiful inside and out @lucyfallonx.

It’s been a busy time for the Platt family on-screen as Bethany made a dramatic return to the cobbles earlier this month. She bid farewell to the cobbles in a dramatic exit storyline at the start of the year following a whirlwind relationship with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). Bethany accepted a position at her dream job working for a magazine in London.

Her departure went hand-in-hand with her relationship troubles, as Daniel struggled to decide if he wanted to be with Bethany or Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), who also left Weatherfield earlier this year.

Bethany wanted a fresh start, and moving to London was the only option to get away from Daniel. But the actress has now made her return to the soap.

At the start of the month, Bethany found herself being interrogated by the police for allegedly stealing a car. Bethany revealed she had resigned from her job in London and borrowed the car from her boss without their consent.

P.C Kit Green managed to clear Bethany’s name, much to her delight. Bethany then reunited with her mum Sarah who was thrilled to hear Bethany was back in Weatherfield for good.

Away from the screen, the soap star is in a happy relationship with footballer Ryan Ledson. They welcomed their first child into the world in 2023 when Lucy gave birth to baby boy, Sonny. Lucy gave birth to their second child, a daughter named Nancy, in January.
