The Strawbridge family have teased an “exciting” project together. Dick and Angel are known for appearing in Escape to the Chateau, a renovation show which aired on Channel 4 in 2016 after the couple purchased a French castle in 2015.
The reality television series followed Dick and Angel and their family as they bought and renovated the 19th-century château in France, while raising two young children and starting a business hosting weddings and other events. Over the years, viewers loved watching the family transform the property to their liking.
From being uninhabitable after not being lived in for 40 years, the 45-room property is now a spectacular home. The show ran for nine series but the home is also known for hosting major events, such as weddings and parties.
On the official Strawbridge family Instagram page, a picture of Dick and Angel in Cannes was shared. It was captioned: “Hello to you from a very sunny South of France.
“This week we nipped down to Cannes for a very exciting work trip. Watch this space for a very special Chateau update…coming soon! Love, Dick & Angel.”
Dick and Angel and their two children, Arthur and Dorothy, have now lived at the property for over a decade and are still putting their stamp on the place. They often share snaps of their stunning gardens on their social media pages and insights into areas of the home that were rarely shown on TV.
Dick and Angel gave an exclusive interview with HELLO! in 2023, in which they revealed that their idyllic chateau is their ‘forever home’. The Channel 4 reality stars bought the magnificent property for £280,000. Explaining their decision to wrap up Escape to the Chateau, the couple confided to HELLO! in 2023: “It was two years ago that we decided to end the Escape to the Chateau series.
“We made the decision because the kids are growing older, and all the parallel activity was not sustainable at this level. We are doers and we are never going to stop completely, but we’re also protecting them.
“Arthur is starting senior school and the pressure on our little ones is phenomenal. When he goes there, people may have heard that his parents have done stuff on television.”
Fans of the show have speculated about what the new update could be. One comment said “Escape to the Chateau: THE MOVIE!” and another guessed “can’t wait, Christmas edition would be fabulous.”
