Jason Manford forced to cancel show at last minute

Comedian Jason Manford was forced to call off his performance tonight at the eleventh hour after his plane was forced to turn back. The star was scheduled to appear in Belfast this evening and was travelling from London.

But his delayed aircraft was unable to touch down in Northern Ireland because of Storm Amy. He was subsequently diverted to Manchester instead. In a statement, he said: “Due to extreme weather conditions caused by Storm Amy, the British Airways plane that Jason Manford was flying on this afternoon could not land in Belfast and was rerouted to Manchester.”, reports the Mirror.

“This unfortunately means that Jason’s show tonight has been cancelled. Please hold onto your tickets and you will be contacted next week with the date for the rescheduled show.

“On behalf of Jason, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Jason had already been chronicling his journey to Belfast as it encountered a challenging start

He was sat on the plane when it experienced delays in London due to the weather conditions.

Jason Manford stuck on a plane

This prompted four passengers to choose to disembark as they were reluctant to continue with the flight.

In a further update, Jason posted alarming footage of his plane attempting to land in Belfast.

The British Airways flight could be observed trying to reach the ground before a gust caused the aircraft’s nose to point downwards. The pilot decided to take the plane back into the air, and Jason disclosed that they instead flew to Manchester for landing.

While in Manchester, passengers remained on the aircraft as officials deliberated whether they would return to London.

In a surprising twist, Jason revealed he was now only 15 minutes away from his home and joked he might ask to disembark there rather than in London.

The television personality shared with his followers: “Not gonna lie! That was scary! After those women got off too! Premonition. Anyway, really sorry weather has scuppered our show tonight, will be back as soon as possible!

“Thanks for understanding and all lovely messages.”

Fans were quick to express their support for Jason amid his ongoing journey, with one saying: “Just thankful he’s landed safe, even if it’s not where he wanted to be. Safety is the most important thing. Gigs can be rescheduled x.”

Another chimed in: “After earlier post I did wonder as long as all are safe main things.”

A different follower commented: “Nightmare. I was thinking landing in Manchester was actually perfect for you….. gig aside obviously!”.
