Strictly Come Dancing’s Amber Davies was overwhelmed after a sweet surprise from professional partner Nikita Kuzmin and her fellow cast mates. Former Love Island winner and West End star Amber Davies joined this year’s cohort of Strictly Come Dancing after Dani Dyer-Bowen had to pull out of the BBC dancing show after fracturing her ankle in a fall during rehearsals.

Last week, Amber and Nikita took to the floor with a Waltz to When We Were Young by Adele, which earned the couple 27 points. Tonight, October 4, Amber and Nikita took to the dancefloor to perform their Samba to Bam Bam by Camilla Cabello and Ed Sheeran – but for the celebrity contestant, it also meant she celebrated her birthday on the show.

Earlier today, Amber told her 1.3m Instagram followers: “Little me would never believe I’m celebrating my last birthday in my twenties on the Strictly ballroom dancefloor.” In a video, Amber was emotional as she was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers from her dancing partner Nikita. In the post, she said: ” Golden star for the most fab pro partner ever @nikita__kuzmin!!! He remembered guys best birthday EVER !!!! @bbcstrictly (he did infact say happy 40th birthday whilst handing me this gift..) Thank you so much for all the birthday love, time to celebrate with a SAMBAAAAA.”

But the birthday celebrations didn’t stop there. On Amber’s Instagram story, ahead of the second live show, she reposted a video from fellow Strictly alumni Lewis Cope as the cast and crew gathered to present her with a cake for her 29th birthday.

In tonight’s episode, Amber and Nikita scored 29 points – two points more than their week one performance. Heading up to get their scores and chat to host Claudia Winkleman, the cast continued the celebrations.

Professional Neil Jones emerged with another birthday cake, as the contestants and professionals cheered. Completely surprised, Amber covered her mouth as she gasped.

Nikita shouted “it’s us” as the pink and white cake had a printed photos of the Strictly couple, before licking off part of the icing.

The race for the Glitterball continued tonight on BBC One, with the 15 celebrities taking to the dancefloor with their professional partners. Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas return as judges to cast their eye over the contestant, while Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman hosted the programme.

In the first live show last week, September 27, no contestant was eliminated. For week two, the scores will be carried over and combined with the previous week, with a change to the voting system.

In September, The Liverpool Empire Theatre announced Amber as the lead star of Legally Blonde The Musical. The new production of the West End and Broadway hit musical will run at the theatre from Tuesday, April 14 until Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Amber has had a successful theatre career, most recently originated the role of Jordan Baker in the London production of The Great Gatsby. She starred as Vivian Ward in the UK Tour of Pretty Woman, Lorraine Baines in the West End production of Back to the Future The Musical and Campbell in Bring It On at London’s South Bank Centre.
