There has been many famous faces appearing across the Wimbledon courts as day one of the world’s most famous tennis tournament gets started. The highly-anticipated sporting event will provide two weeks of non stop entertainment as players bid to lift the prestigious Wimbledon trophy.

As one of the biggest sporting events on the calendar, Wimbledon is often a huge attraction for celebrities from all walks of life, not only sports stars. Some of the stars enjoy a glass of champagne on arrival and others arrive early to soak up the incredible Wimbledon atmosphere.

This year, temperatures are exceeding 30C for the first couple of days and spectators have arrived to reflect the weather with gorgeous dresses, umbrellas and sunglasses. One of the first to arrive at the tournament was Sir David Beckham, wearing a light-coloured suit with a blue shirt and brown tie.

Others who have been spotted include comedy legend Joanna Lumley and former England manager Gareth Southgate. Some members of the Royal Family are even in attendance for the opening day.
